Organize with your Union! $22 per hour! Deadline July 10th
Help your union build the power we need to win a contract that provides all grad workers with livable wages, healthcare, and job security for all 12 months out of the year!
GEO is seeking fellows to recruit new members, increase member participation, and build power as we bargain a full contract in Summer and Fall 2022. These are temporary hourly fellowships, at $22 per hour, that are paid monthly. The expected workload is 5 hours a week on average, but there may be a few weeks when more than 5 hours of work will be expected. Summer Fellow positions will run for 7-8 weeks in July-early September; Fall Fellow positions will run for about 16 weeks in September-December. Applicants are encouraged to apply for both Summer and Fall positions. These positions are flexible and can be structured around current course load, work duties, and research. Training will be provided and paid.
Women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, and D/disabled individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be current GEO members, and due to the stipulations of the grant that makes this program possible, applicants must be current U.S. citizens.
Applications are due by Sunday, July 10th. Find more information, including a detailed list of responsibilities, in the ad at https://tinyurl.com/GEOFellows22, and apply at https://tinyurl.com/GEOFellows22App.

Join a GEO committee!
We are a member-run union; we depend on the commitment of our members to stay as strong as possible. You can find details about what each committee does and how to contact them on our website. No special knowledge is required. You can also follow the calendar of events on our website for the date and time of upcoming meetings: http://uiucgeo.org/calendar. Meetings are open to membership, and coming to a meeting does not commit you to joining a committee.
