Important Updates: 2020 Wage Reopener Raise and Back Pay

The 4% raise to the minimum was applied to October’s earning statement and according to the administration, back pay for both September and October will be added to this month’s earning statement. If you are making the minimum and still have yet to see the raise and/or the back pay for both September and October please fill out this quick questionnaire.

For those wondering how to access their earning statements to see if the raise and/or back pay has been applied, we’ve included this helpful guide to assist you.

  1. Go to the Earnings Statement - University of Illinois System website.

  2. Once on the website, click on the green "Access Earnings Statement" button on the right hand side of the page. Note: If you have not set up two factor authentication, there is a link right below the "Access Earnings Statement" button to set it up. Click that and follow the appropriate steps.

  3. Enter your NetID and password.

  4. You will then be asked to verify your identity. There are two ways to do this. You can select the “Call Me” option or the “Enter a Passcode” option. For either one, follow the appropriate steps to verify your identity.

  5. Next you might need to enter your pin. If you don’t have one, click the link below the space to enter the pin to create one. If you do have one, enter it and click “Submit”.

  6. This should take you straight to your earnings statement.

  7. To view past earnings statements, click the “View Past Statements” button on the upper right corner.

Did you know? The Urbana Police Department and the UIUC Police Department are negotiating their union contracts right now. These contracts work to embolden police power by shielding cops from accountability, transparency, and fairness and have been tied to increased violent “misconduct.” We have the opportunity to demand community accountability and interrupt the power of these contracts. At this teach-in, we’ll learn about the overarching problems with cop unions and dig into the details of the current UPD and UIPD contracts. Let’s mobilize to win.

Theresa Rocha Beardall is an Assistant Professor of Sociology, Criminology, and American Indian Studies at Virginia Tech whose research examines police and policing at the intersection of race, class, and labor law.

This event is sponsored by HRI-Mellon Legal Humanities Initiative, GEO, and Abolition 2 Abundance!

The Coalition of Student Employee Unions (CSEU) Membership Council Meeting will be held on December 5 at 12PM CST. The GEO recently voted to affiliate with the CSEU at our last GMM, so now we are members of the Membership Council and therefore able to participate in meetings to direct the future efforts of CSEU! The GEO is allowed 2 voting delegates and an unlimited number of non-voting delegates. If you are interested in attending as a delegate, please contact Cassidy Wagner, our Comms Co-Officer and CSEU liaison, at cassidymwagner@gmail.com, and/or register for the meeting!
